I have Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 and
all the updates installed... I can get my MN-700 base station to transmit and encrypt to WPA, however, I can't get my laptop (MN-720 card) to receive WPA. Whenever I try to set it up, it gives me the error "WPA not supported". Also, the setup wizard for the base station doesn't give WPA as a pull down option (just like the laptop client). Is anyone else having this problem? I'd really like to try out WPA, but I can only get WEP security working. Scott |

Is XP on your laptop also, Scott? If so, make sure you have the Wireless
Update Rollup Package for Windows XP installed. You can see the information here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp Also, again if you're on XP on the laptop, have you done any tweaking of the Services? It would be best if Wireless Zero Configuration is turned on and functioning. -- Chris H. hmmm... sounds strange
I can setup WPA fine. I think you should probably contact Microsoft for this. It's even more strange that you don't see WPA as a pull down option in base station configuration. Anyways, just an advice. WPA slows down your connection so much that it "halves" it. So unless, you really need this much security, stick with WEP. To increase your WEP security you can stop broadcasting your basestation's SSID and turn on MAC address filtering. >-----Original Message----- >I have Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 and >all the updates installed...
