Default problem with my base station

I am trying to setup a woreless base station onto my dell
laptop, and i am having problems configuring the base
station. I keep getting the meessage: There was a
problem configuring your base staion. Then it mentions
something about i need to disable software firewalls or
any internet security software. I have no idea ow to do
this, and i dont even know if i have either of these
options?? Thanks!

Dell typically come preinstalled with Norton or some
other firewall software. You may have an uninstall option
on the Start/Programs menu for the software, or go
Control Panel and open Add or Remove Programs. Then
remove Norton (or whatever they installed for firewall).

Then install the router. Once installed you can reinstall
Norton or the firewall software if you want to.
