Default Nortan and MN-700 base station

I am having problems installing the MN-700 base station.
Do I have to uninstall Norton Antivirus prior to
installing the base station? Is so, can I re-install
Norton after the base station is setup? Will norton and
the base station co-exist?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I use Norton Antivirus 2003 Professional and I did not have to uninstall for
the MN-500 or MN-700

Randy, the problem is most people don't know what they're running on their
systems from Symantec (Norton). You couple that with clicking the Norton
icon in the Systray and selecting "Exit" - and it doesn't. If you check
under the hood (which most people don't even know how to do), you'll find
all that "Exit" choice does is close the icon - everything else continues to
run in the background and does interfere with installations. Even Norton's
anti-virus will do that, since it checks each file changed or written new to
the hard drive. That's why it is recommended to close all open and running
programs prior to any installation.

Yeppers,

I misunderstood his reply. I know what you are saying also. I was just
making the comment that I have never had to shutdown Norton Antivirus to
install the router software. I don't even use the software anymore. I hate
that dam BNU. You are absolutely right about the "exit" thing though. If you
really want to stop it you have to stop the services running the program and
then you should be set.

Some years I like McAffee better and some years I like Norton better. I
don't like all the bloat that comes with both of them though. For now Norton
is causing far less problems than McAffee.

Have a good day,

Randy D
