Is everyone getting these messages in the Base Station Security Log or is it
just a few of us? I get these 24/7 and there are many different source IPs. If these are real attempts to get past the firewall, then how are people getting my IP? From message boards? Random attempts? And what can be done to slow the attempts? People without firewalls enabled must get hacked all the time! I think these really started after the last updates, but I am not sure. PLEASE REPLY: Do you get these in your security log as often as I do? 2004/01/28 17:18:52 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54464> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3668> 2004/01/28 17:18:55 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54464> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3668> 2004/01/28 17:19:01 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54464> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3668> 2004/01/28 17:19:07 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54831> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3669> 2004/01/28 17:19:10 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54831> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3669> 2004/01/28 17:19:16 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:54831> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:3669> 2004/01/28 17:19:22 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:55143> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:81> 2004/01/28 17:19:25 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:55143> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:81> 2004/01/28 17:19:31 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<64.71.165.195:55143> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:81> 2004/01/28 17:23:23 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<200.146.58.43:777> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:1026> 2004/01/28 17:24:06 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<68.80.113.91:1171> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:80> 2004/01/28 17:24:10 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<68.80.113.91:1171> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:80> 2004/01/28 17:29:01 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<212.204.27.60:25839> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:1433> 2004/01/28 17:36:04 Client filtering settings blocked connection from IP address <68.83.208.179> 2004/01/28 17:36:55 Client filtering settings blocked connection from IP address <68.80.151.162> 2004/01/28 17:41:24 Client filtering settings blocked connection from IP address <68.78.115.177> 2004/01/28 17:46:13 Connection attempt to base station from WAN blocked -- src:<65.104.206.14:4599> dst:<68.80.xx.yyy:17300> Mikey |

You're most likely seeing the blocked attempts to access your system being
stopped by the firewall. How to interpret your base station log is covered in this article: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/br..._log_file.mspx These days, with all the different virus strains going around, it is not unusual for a lot of attempts to access the systems. I don't see as many as a lot of people, but my ISP wisely blocked several incoming ports. -- Chris H.
