I am running a web server, I just got the Wireless
Network Laptop Kit (802.11g) and I have my server hardwired in to my switch witch then goes to my router, the MN-820. I can't seem to be able to access my web site now. I tried using the port forwarding settings, but that didn't seem to help, I tried the DMZ, and that didn't work. I check all my server settings, and they are setup right. I can access my site using its local IP <192.168.1.10> but I can't access it using my gateway IP <12.205.186.151> and I can't use the URL <http://www.west- fest.no-ip.com>. I don't know what is going on with this. I had a Linksys router befour and my site worked well with that. Please help me! Thanks! Brian Kabela (E-Mail Removed) Brian K. |

The MN700 router (from the 820 package) does not support
loopback -- i.e. no access to LAN servers using the WAN IP. MS did the same thing with the previous version, the MN500, but eventually upgraded to support loopback. That's one of the reasons I never upgraded. Call MS support and log a request for loopback. >-----Original Message----- >I am running a web server, I just got the Wireless >Network Laptop Kit (802.11g) and I have my server >hardwired in to my switch witch then goes to my router, >the MN-820. On a second note, I used your IP to check your server,
and it is responding (well asking for a login, and then sending an error message since I don't have a password). You can also try to use http://www.samspade.org or similar service to verify that the server is working. >-----Original Message----- >The MN700 router (from the 820 package) does not support >loopback -- i.e. no access to LAN servers using the WAN >IP.
