I currently have desktop (Win2K) and notebook (XP)
computers connected to a DSL link using a Netgear wired router and DSL modem. I have another notebook computer (Win2K) I would like to connect wirelessly, and well as use the XP notebook to connect wirelessly (not concurrent with wired connection). I have purchased the MN-500 Base Unit & MN-520 Notebook Adapter and read the Users Guide and also MN-Base Station Configuration guide. I would like to leave the current wired configuration in place, and add the MN-500 Base unit to the wired router (at least one port is available). Some questions I have: - Do I need to connect to base unit to the DSL modem to configure it? Can I just connect one of the notebooks via the NIC interface to one of the Ethernet ports on the MN-500 to do this configuration? - To set up this configuration, do I set the MN-500 to act as a bridge? - Can I use the MN-520 card in either notebook (as long as I am not connected thru the wired router configuration) ? Thanks !! CKozy696 |

It will not operate wirelessly. > - To set up this configuration, do I set the MN-500 to act > as a bridge? --> Yes. See this Knowledge Base article for really good guidance: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=MSbbn > - Can I use the MN-520 card in either notebook (as long as > I am not connected thru the wired router configuration) ? --> To access your LAN, yes. > > Thanks !! --> You're welcome. -- Chris H.
