Hello,
I have a MN-700 base station and cannot configure it manually. I am able to set it up through the broadband network utility but cannot set it up manually. If I try to go to http://192.168.2.1 as the manual suggests without first setting up the base station using the broadband network utility internet explorer tells me that it cannot find the site. If however I first set the base station up using the network utility I am able to access the router and login to it through http://192.168.2.1 . The real reason that I am trying to do this is to share an MSN dialup account. If I set the router up with the broadband network utility it will not allow me to share my internet although every other part of the network works properly. Does any one else have a similar problem or know how to fix this one? I am running windows XP on both computers and have disabled all virus protection and firewalls while I have been trying this. Thank you very much, Grif Grif |

Grif, what you're doing is "unsupported" by the hardware, which is designed
for cable and DSL connections. However, you might take a look at this Knowledge Base article on satellite connections which uses ICS in Windows XP to share the connection: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=MSbbn You've basically got the same thing, just with a different incoming feed. This KB article will assist you setting up the base station for access mode: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=MSbbn -- Chris H.
