I have been experiencing slow internet connection lately
on my laptop. My strength is still high and I have a g card and basestation. The further I get from the hub, the weaker my connection is. The weird thing is I have gotten much quicker connection in the past. Please help. GEP3 |

What have you tried? You could change channels, raise or lower your base
station and make sure it is away from walls and any electrical devices such as your monitor, speakers, etc. There is no mention of distances in your post, but the signal does diminish the farther you are from the router. -- Chris H. I have not tried those items. The base is close to
electical, walls, etc. The weird thing is that it always has been set up like this. >-----Original Message----- >What have you tried? Assuming you're on DSL, have you unplugged the DSL modem for a minute or two
to reset it? When you do that, also unplug the base station and let the modem sync up with your service provider, then plug the base station back in. There are various tricks like the height of the base station, moving it away from walls, etc., that we each need to try individually because each of our setups is different. If you're on the default Channel 6, for instance, try using either 1 or 11 and see if there's a difference. Remember, you need to change the channel on all computers on your LAN. -- Chris H.
