http://att.com.com/Microsoft_MN_700_...broadband_rout er/4852-3319_7-30540105.html As you can see many people are having connectivity issues. But I guess if you listen to some people here it is the OS they are using and not a problem with the router. |

I don't see anyone trying to blame the operating system. I think it is obvious that there are issues impacting some people. Finding out what operating system (and some other things) accomplishes two things - 1. it may lead to a work around until a better fix is available in firmware/drivers 2. sometimes a particular problem impacts 32 bit only windows or 16 bit only windows or even just one version of windows. I encourage posters to call product support and get a SR# which even if it doesn't get them a fix, gets the info into a data base that is examined for trending. Additionally, getting this kind of info posted as a follow up assists the dev team who reads this newsgroup (and several others). Finally, MVP's are volunteers. We want to get the existing issues fixed too. If we ask for information, it's because we think it will help within the frames of reference above. Personally speaking, I have a full time job and if I don't stop and explain this in each and every post, I'm sorry. I'm doing what I can, when I can. If my response does not meet someone's expectations, well, I move on to the next person that I can help. Or try to help. I think the other MVP's feel similarly. Well said, Barb. Check the WPA thread as an example of where the operating system may be involved. -- Chris H.
