Universal Plug and Play was installed in Add/Remove programs under add
Windows Components. I bought a MN-700 to replace my MN-100. I had no
problems with my MN-100 and My Network Places access. I swapped out my
NM-100 and installed the MN-700 with no problems and updated to the new
firmware. I was only able to access My Network Places only one time after
that it would hang if I tried to access it and had to reboot to open it but
it would only open once. This was also happening on my wife's computer. I
uninstalled UP&P on both system's and it solved the My Network Places access
problem. I can't figure out why it was not happening with the MN-100. Has
anyone else had this problem.

It's currently a known issue...

Hoping to see it fixed soon!

Do you need the software installed to install the firmware upgrades. I know
you need to check for updates. I would like to uninstall it and use the web
browser to configure the Base Station settings.

No

You can download the msbndownload.exe file and update the firmware that way.
