Check to see if they're part of the same Workgroup, Charles. Also, if
you're running any type of third-party firewall (something like ZoneAlarm) you may need to configure that to allow LAN traffic between your machines. -- Chris H. WOW - Thank you Chris - Zone Alarm was the problem.
I wonder - with the security device on the base station - whether I can fairly safely abandon Zone Alarm? >-----Original Message----- >Check to see if they're part of the same Workgroup, Charles. Charles, if you're concerned about tracking out-going connections from your
system(s), then continue to use ZoneAlarm. As far as incoming is concerned, the firewall on your router should suffice especially is you're discarding pings. ZA can be configured (I think, I don't run it) to allow LAN traffic from your other computer(s). -- Chris H. Thanks -- works well now. That should be in the
instructions and underlined. >-----Original Message----- >Charles, if you're concerned about tracking out-going connections from your >system(s), then continue to use ZoneAlarm. 8-) Good for you, Charles. File it away so if anyone else asks, you'll be
able to assist them. -- Chris H.
