Hi
I don't know if there is a filter on which blocks me or blocks P.N. Postings BUT ....... what follows was posted by me yesterday and seems not to have arrived! (:<(( Hello everyone Been some pretty damning remarks about "teNsulP" - (sorry, reversed-just in case it's a filter) on here in the recent past - have things stabilised for an "Average" downloader / user? Can anybody recommend them - other than to "save a few pence?" Still bemused by they banter over ISP's and wonder how they seem to get away with "One way" contracts - one's they can wriggle out of but you seem to be held to unmercifully! I am considering the "standard" - £14.99/month service. Constructive advice welcome for an average user who will "max" at 512k at present. Thanks Hew. Hew Moore |

I can assure you that your post *did* arrive, and - to date - has received eight responses. If you're not seeing it, it's most likely due to the settings in *your* newsreader - rather than to anything external. -- Cheers, Tim ______ Please reply to newsgroup. Reply address is invalid. |

Hi Tim
Well that's most strange .... appreciate your comments, but 1) I don't understand why the first and all replies are invisible to me and then why I can see my second posting and your reply! 2) where to start to look now! I have made sure that all blocked senders in a News items are removed and will now have a trawl around Norton I.S. as I still can't see the original post and subsequent replies. Thanks, Tim. To all of you who have taken the trouble to reply, thanks I will try to recover your replies. Regards Hew. |

Strange! What newsreader (e.g. Outlook Express) are you using, and have you got any message rules set up? Meanwhile, you can see your original message, and the replies, via Google at http://tinyurl.com/8qqub -- Cheers, Tim ______ Please reply to newsgroup. Reply address is invalid. |

Just to complicate matters. The posting the OP is referring to isn't showing on Giganews, nor are any of the responses. Maybe its a new form of PN "traffic shaping" ? i.e filter out any posts derogatory to PN, in a bid to cut down "traffic" ;o) |

After all, he's asking about moving to them isn't he :-) Here's the path for the first post in the thread. If Giganews doesn't have the thread, that just seems very odd !!! It also gets stuff from theplanet.net via t-online.de and so there's a pretty decent route to Giganews right there. But I have known ISP news servers go into a sulk, and just not pass stuff to the rest of the internet for what seems like ages. They accept an article, and might not let even their own customers see it. So it doesn't greatly surprise me that somebody can post a message and it vanishes. One reason I get my news connection where I do is that they know much more than my ISP about how to run a news server. This isn't quite the compliment it might be, as the starting point is so low. -- David G. Bell -- SF Fan, Filker, and Punslinger. "I am Number Two," said Penfold. "You are Number Six." |
