In addition to line characteristics it all depends on whether the
service provider can provide the necessary local exchange equipment. It also depends on whether your local exchange is connected to the system in general. If you are the only customer then it will not be economic to install any. Why should you expect any special priviledges if you are unable to pay extra? It's all just a simple matter of economics. Just wait. Be patient. You will eventually get the service you require. Or you could get in touch with Pickfords and move. ---- Reg. |

The exchanges with it in are all capable of 2000 kbps, while other operators might also have installed kit there, then possibly some higher speeds might be achieved. All this rubbish about 'any special privileges' seems to be a figment of your imagination, Reg. I don't suppose you have been taking advantage of 24 hour opening, by any chance ? |

I have passed over it. I just didn't know the figures for 2mb limits for line attenuation. Looks like I'll have to wait for ADSL2, or will MaxDSL allow for longer cable runs and then maybe I'll get 2meg? Regards Glenn... |
