It is running version 1.01.00 The only "oddity" being that it has the attenuation and SNR figures reversed. Which I notice is fixed at release 1.01.12. I can't see anything else vital in the release notes up to 1.01.28 -- Alex Heney, Global Villager Even worse than raining cats and dogs is hailing taxi's. When it comes to the GT, which has proved tempromental for many people, I'd definitely go with the adage "If it aint broke...". If the firmware you're on isn't disconnecting you, or the wireless crashing every couple of hours, then leave it well alone ![]() Alex |

I updated mine to 1.01.28 more or less when I bought it to fix the attenuation/SNR issue, and I've had no problems at all with it. It's been up for 11 days without complaining and I only rebooted it because they keep messing with the system and telling us if we still have issues to reset our routers. -- Phil http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/31307.html |

I only read those reviews after ordering (I had heard good things about the G, and didn't realise the GT was different), and was expecting to be sending it back under the DSR, since the reason I was buying it was to replace a 3Com 3CRWE754G72-A that was losing connectivity 3-4 times per day, sometimes more. But so far (5 full days and 6 evenings using it) I haven't had a single drop out with the Netgear, so the 3Com is going on ebay in the next couple of days. I think I'll leave it running the firmware it was delivered with. As you and Phil both say, If it ain't broke.. -- Alex Heney, Global Villager But what if I'm a figment of my OWN imagination? I checked this out and it will now access my web server running on my linux box on my private lan via the wan ip address sucessfully. I have found this to be untrue. It must be noted though, that the router needs to be rebooted after enabling syslog features to get them to work. Thus far, it seems that this latest firmare 3.01.25 is very good. |
