Default VPN Access Via AOL Broadband

Hi,

A couple of years ago I posted a query about whether I could access my
office over VPN using AOL Broadband. I was told the answer was
definitely no. Since then, I read a post stating it was possible to do
so by opening the AOL DUN connection without actually loading the VPN
client.

Just wondered if VPN access through AOL is still a no no. My wife and
I want to keep our old email addresses without having to pay twice.

Cheers

Pete

FWIW I know someone who VPNs in to work using an AOL connection. It
is a regular TCP connection, except that ports 25 and 80 I think are
proxy'd to another machine inside the AOL network - port 25 to help
reduce spam and port 80 to ensure everything goes through their cache.

There is no harm in trying it? if you already have AOL set up?
Andrew.
