Default Bulldog "Leased Line"

Friend is planning to get the above - is this actually an SDSL with 1:1
contention ratio? Secondly what has been the recent experience with
Buldog meeting lead-times and keeping the service operating etc.?

Installation is just North of M25.

OK, so there may be problems. I did read about some adverse comments on
Bulldog earlier this year. Wondering if things were better?

Many customers complaining all the time, don't think this is the thing
people are looking for...
Try advance group (www.advance-internet.com).

I've finally managed to get away from them, less than a week ago. They
still owe me money after helping themselves with my CC.

Personally, I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Having said that,
I never actually had too many problems with the service itself, just
the lack of CS and support. If its working, great. If it isn't, God
help you!

http://www.advance-internet.com/conn...dslpricing.htm

Thanks for the link, but have you noticed whats on offer?
1Mb SDSL for 628 pounds install fee and 182 pounds per month.
What a bunch of fsking &@&?@&!!!

Now look at LLU from http://www.BeThere.co.uk/pilot
they are offering 24Mbit downlink and 1Mbit uplink
for 20 quid a month.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

It won't take a genious with LLU to offer 24Mbit SDSL
for 40 quid a month by having a pair of lines
to connect ADSL both ways. Or even just offer a proper
SDSL 24mbit modem over two pairs of wires.

BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Bring on LLU and we shall see!!

That's not legally possible in the UK.

Every operator using BT lines is required to adhere to a specification
called the Access Network Frequency Plan ("ANFP") which details the
technical limitations on the xDSL technologies and bandwidths possible
over copper pairs.

These specifications are important to avoid interference between lines.
They limit SDSL to 2.3 Mbps, and they also specifically prohibit running
ADSL the "wrong way" around.

There is due to be a new version published soon, but AFAIK it will still
not permit SDSL speeds above 2.3 Mbps.

Go read the current version at
http://www.nicc.org.uk/nicc-public/P...s/anfps_i2.pdf.
