I have been through the process of moving from Central Point recently and the short answer is that you can't migrate from a Datastream product. At the moment there is no facility for migration from a Datasteam product, although there are some proposals in the pipeline. The answer is to cease the Central Point service and pay for a "new" connection with your new ISP > Is there a source of information on how to achieve this without pain. > > my current ISP is Central Point > > > > Chris -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ |

Central point can "disconnect" you within 24 hours and advise BT your line
is no longer to be ADSL enabled (although you will have to pay the remainder of the 28 days notice period) As soon as BT are told, they remove the ADSL signal but it takes a couple of days for their database to be updated and show your line as once more "available" for ADSL. At this point, you can then go to another ISP (I chose Plusnet) and they order a new ADSL connection for you which takes about 7 - 10 days to be installed. For me, the whole process took 11 days. Hope this helps. Tiscali seems to finally be getting close to doing this, according to a recent post/website article. Peter M. -- UK ADSL <http://tinyurl.com/5jpa4> - Happy to save cash with Plus.Net!! |
