Hi
Since AOL upgraded my service to 2Mbps I'm having far more messages saying that the network is not commected, but only for a few seconds, and the Ip address seems to change about 4 or 5 times a day. This is a typical Router log: Sun, 2005-06-26 19:00:01 - Send E-mail Success! AOL uses random addresses so everytime a connection is established you will have a different address. Changing screen-names while still connected will also change your IP address. It's an advantage in many situations. How to avoid disconnects? Use the smallest/earliest version of AOL you can find which will work with BB. Use the smallest/earliest version of Windows, ie: not XP Professional Install more RAM. 1 Gig is about the absolute minimum for AOL Change ISP. (kim) |

The OS varies from machine to machine (4 on the network, but XP Pro is the least version, one machine uses Win Server 2003, and there is a router between AOL and the machines. Don |
