Default Broadband Wifi telephone?



Hi,

Does anyone know whether a broadband wifi telephone exists ie looks like a
dect - but communicates with the router thru say Skype?

The base stations have answering machines (they are from
the BT / Siemens Diverse 3016). I've got more of these available, I
think the bidding has probably gone as far as it is going to.

Yes, there are WiFi VoIP SIP phones available from Zyxel, Senao, Cisco and
others. Unfortunately they are rather expensive
and apparently don't work too well, except maybe the Cisco one, but that is
VERY expensive.

I gather there is one available for Skype too, check out their website for
links.

I've tried to get my Cisco voip to work with Skype but there website states
they don't support SIP

Anyone know there SIP IP ?

Skype uses proprietary P2P protocol, so SIP phones will NOT work with Skype.
AFAIK Cisco can use SIP or MGCP, so it should work with all VoIP's, except
Skype.
