P2P partial success

I'm trying to set up the simple p2p with a crossover cable on 2 computers that
have Win98SE, I managed to get both machines to see each other...but when I try
to open either computer on both machines, i get a message that it cannot access
it. I do have both sharing. How can i get to open them up and see their files?
BTW, Netbios is greyed out. How can I choose it over the TC/IP if its greyed
out? I never had to use Netbios in the past, so I'm not sure if I need it now.
