I tried to set up a network linking my 98 desktop to my
XPpro laptop, but was asked to insert the 98 CD which I do not have as 98 was preinstalled. I cancelled the operation and because the files needed by Windows networking are not available, a DOS screen tells me every time I boot that they cannot be found. My friend has a 98 network, so I looked at the location of the specified files on his machine and then copied them into the corresponding directory on my machine. This has worked but I still get a message in a window just before Windows starts saying: Cannot find Dynamic Link Library msnp32.dll The system cannot find the file specified. I have tried running MSCONFIG to disable the dll at boot but it re-checks the box EVERY log-on. PLEASE can someone help? Matthew Gaunt |
