I have an Old Micron Pentium laptop running Windows 98SE. I have not been
able to make any Windows updates because I have not been able to get it on
the network yet.

I installed a Linksys wireless network card (802.11b) to get onto the rest
of my home network. I have a wep passphrase set up on the network, but after
I installed the driver I downloaded from the linksys website, I do not have
the option to set a passphrase.

Does anyone have a clue? Do I perhaps need one of the windows updates? Also,
I don't have the Linksys Wireless configuration Utility because I could not
find my original Linksys disk, which is why I had to use the driver from
their website.

Thanks for any help,

Support for a passphrase is provided by the network card configuration
program, not by Windows.

The same Linksys download site that had the driver program might have
the configuration program, too.

If the Linksys software won't let you enter the passphrase, go to one
of the other computers, find the 64-bit or 128-bit WEP key that the
password generates, and enter that key for the Linksys card.
