Since last wednesday, I noticed that download speeds had dropped considerably. I disconnected and tried to reconnect, only to be told I had entered the wrong password or username. (I hadnt!) In that time, I was also getting a disconnect due to "lack of response of ISP" and also getting connected and having a dead connection. (By that i mean it showed as being connected at 2.2Mb but no data getting sent or received.) I have emailed Bulldog - but their support appears non existant - with no reply. (Prior to this I had already emailed to them about one evening when I was getting less than a 512K connection - with no reply. At other times, I appear to get good throughput.) Today, its not even as good as a 256K connection! Whats worse is the fact I had signed up (order accepted) for the Primetime connection, only to be told 3 weeks after I terminated with BT, that they now could only offer me "Alltime" at £15 a month more. In their words "to offer me an improved service". Well not only is the service I currently have shite to say the least, they are proving to be a company that dont know the meaning of customer service. On top of that, I am still awaiting the refund for the connection charges I paid for and removed to fall into line with the alltime offer. Anyone else experiencing poor speeds and erratic connections? -- www.senaction.com guv |

There never was much support direct from Bulldog but now that C&W have taken over it appears to be even worse. However my reseller does answer enquiries. He says that "there are issues with one of Bulldog's central pipes". Rumour has it they only have two. Lots of complaints about Bulldog at www.adslguide.org.uk - but then there always is. -- Malcolm |

I was told about the "problems" - which all ISPs get from time to time - but the bug bare in this is the fact I signed up for Primetime - and 3 weeks after I had disconnected with BT, (and a lot of excuses as to why it was taking so long) they finally told me I couldnt have primetime any more. Instead, "to improve our services you can have ALLtime at £15 a month more which will give me a better level of service"! If this is an improvement, f*ck knows what it would have been like! I now have managed to get a faster connection - but tests show its very poor for a 2Mb connection (using ADSLguide.org.uk). Connecting to my newsfeed, "newserver.com", when it was working fine, I would get a pretty constant 220-230KB/s. That was excellent, but only lasted 2 weeks. Now its anything from 0 - 21KB/s, with an average of about 10KB/s. Thats not much better than dialup! In the meantime, I spoke to customer services regarding the several other issues. Not much help there due to time of evening - but has at least promised a call back tomorrow. All in all, its the worst internet ISP decision I have made to date in my 11 years on line. Bulldog? OK, further to this, this is the traceroute for usenetserver.com to me: Anyone able to decypher where and why the slow speed is occuring and how to rectify? As mentioned above, a 2MB connection should get better than dialup speeds - which I WAS getting until last wednesday. Seems to be a big gap between 63.223.1.169 and getting to me!
