Pre-Order Question

I'm going to be signing up with Pipex shortly, however is there any point
pre-ordering ADSL prior to activation? I ran a quick test via BTs online
ordering process, and the installation date was set 9 days after
activation - would this be likely to increase if I left ordering until
later? I was hoping for a price drop within the next month, although this
is looking unlikely.

I ordered the day after advertised activation. I was told it would take 9
days for the line to be set up but it was done after just five.
