Default BT "plans to deliver TV down phone lines"...

....once it has upgraded its network to support the delivery speed required.

Ben Verwaayen, chief executive, said: "Providing 'me too' television does
not make sense, because broadcast is a well developed market. But there are
video services around work, education, entertainment and communication that
we could provide soon."

Videonetworks have been telling and more importantly showing BT this for
years.

Somewhat unlikely, at least in the short to medium term.

Having lots of bandwidth capable of sending video signals around is
not useful in itself. You also need content to send down those links.
Right now, the vast majority of content over and above that provided
by terresterial broadcasters is only available from Sky.

As far as I can see from their website, KIT's programming is provided
by Sky. So it's not reduced our dependence on Sky one bit.
