Default New PC & NTL Broadband

I'd be grateful for some advice as to the situation when setting a new PC up
with NTL stand alone modem broadband. I have NTL stand alone modem on my
present PC - is it straight forward when setting up a new single PC, do you
have to go through the NTL set up disc again etc.

Many thanks

Paul B.

If its running XP and using the Ethernet cable not the USB then no just plug
in the Ethernet cable and away you go

You will need to set up Outlook/Outlook Express with your email accounts
though .

You don't need the CD, except possibly to insall the USB drivers if
you're connecting via USB (in which case DO NOT run the install prog,
but plug in the modem, and then when Windows asks for drivers, search
the NTL cd).

But you should swap to ethernet anyway, its much better.

are you setting it up from the old PC to this new 1 ?

if so, then you need to clear the MAC address the modem uses (your current
PC's ethernet card one) so the new ethernet card 1 can be locked onto.
