Default Is this a good router

Hi
In the next couple of days adsl will be enabled in our area.
I took some recommendations of this newgroup and was going for the draytek
vigor 2600, but found this:

"2600 & 2600WE - Lead time = 4 weeks (as at 7-11-03) Draytek UK has no stock
of these products
and it is therefore very likely that you will be quoted similar lead times
by all Draytek
distributors (either that, or you will be just kept waiting!)If you are
quoted similair lead
times, please come back and be added to our list of customers waiting for
these products on
back order to ensure swift delivery upon their arrival to the UK"

So looked about a bit and found the D-Link DSL-504 ADSL Router w/x 2 FREE
Microfilters from broadbandbuyer.co.uk.
Is this any good???
Could you recommend me any others??
I have around £80 to£100 to spend as i need some money left for the
activation fee and network cables e.t.c

Thanks

Gareth

Have you *asked* any Draytek distributors? You never know, there might be
somebody who has one in stock. You only need to find *one* don't you?

Rod.

for example www.seg.co.uk

OK I've had mine for months, but it arrived the next day ! They have to be
worth a call, and if they do have one, ask them if there is still an
online ordering discount.

I'm not connected with them, just a satisfied customer !

I presume the shortage of Draytek Vigor 2600We is because they geared up to
build up the stocks of the new 2600G (54Mbs). Don't just buy the G version,
the extra speed is only between your computers, no effect on the ADSL speed
whatever.
Shame, but if you can wait, you won't be disappointed.
Regards,
Martin

I not sure about this but I have a SAR703 from Solwise, performs perfectly,
fed into a hub/switch it feeds broadband into 4 pc's with little or no drop
off in speed. Also should you require technical assistance I can recommend
Solwise 100% as nothing is too much trouble for them if you have a problem
they will resolve it for you. I think however that the 703 is not a current
device however the 715 looks like a perfect choice and also incudes a 4 port
hub/switch with it.

Here is the link, it is worth a look. www.solwise.co.uk
