pcmcia and networking trouble

I installed my pcmcia card ( 3com FE574B-3Com 10/100 LAN
PCCard-Fast Ethernet) It lights up and everything but i
cannot get a ipaddress to it. Even if i specify one. I
had no problems when i was running this card with windows
2000 but as soon as i tried running it with win98se...i
cannot for the life of me get it to work...

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
