When pc boots up off the network, there is no error, no
problem evident, boot proceeds normally. When connected to a peer-to-peer network, Loadqm causes "...invalid operation in kernel32.dll" and then in ws2_32.dll. MSN Messenger (owner of loadqm) has been uninstalled from this machine, so why does this file cause an error when connected to the network? Is there a winsock error perhaps? Any help appreciated. Thanks! Linda Linda |

Bert,
Thanks for the info and the URL. Interesting reading and I must say I agree with many of Hans' statements. I found after my post that the loadqm was realted to MSN messenger. That unfortunately was just one of many problems. I uninstalled all instances of AOL and MSN messenger and went through the registry and deleted the remnants. Now, I have a problem with IE not wanting to communicate. IE will load with a blank home page, but as soon as I try to go to any URL, I get a WS2_32.dll invalid page fault error. Any ideas on this? >-----Original Message----- >Hi Linda, > >I think you can do without loadqm at all.
