T.T.L value

Hi all,

I have heard that depending on the TTL value , we can identify from
which O.S an IP packet has come from , how true is this statement ?

It is somewhat true. Different operating systems may emit a different
time to live value. Of course, the values changes as the packet is routed
downstream, so this is not reliable. You would need to consider other factors.
