System hang Linksys WPC11 adapter..

I am currently trying to connect a Dell Inspiron 4000
running ME to a Linksys router model number BEFW11S4.. I
am using a Linksys adapter model number WPC11.. After
installing the software utility and driver, the connection
worked brilliantly...

Now, being that the laptop had not been on the web in a
while, I downloaded all the available patches from
Microsoft as of 1/10/04... Once everything was installed
and re-boot, the network connection no longer works...
After numerous uninstalls and reinstalls, same problem...

The problem seems to be that whenever the WPC11 is
physically in the laptop, the entire desktop hangs after
initiating any program... (Start menu, Microsoft Word,
etc).. The funny thing is the network picks up the card
and appears to be fine from the routers standpoint...

Anyone experience this wonderful problem? Thanks in
