System freezing for a few seconds, is normal,
when the modem dials and when disconnect
you will find that the system will not respond for
few seconds. So while disconnecting it is freezing
the system for few seconds, and not the other way
round that the system freezes for few seconds and
hence the modem gets disconnected.
As far disconnecting even when system is not idle....
please note when in the modem settings, you specify
disconnect when idle after xx minutes, this means
that when there is no activity on the modem for xx minutes
it will disconnect, so you may be working with other programs
etc., system is never idle, but if there is no activity on the modem
for thos xx minutes it will still disconnect.
IF you mean that it disconnects even when there is activity
on the modem, then this is something different. Check programs
like your mail clients, outlook express, outlook or other, in the
account settings check that 'disconnect when done' is not enabled.
Also if you are using any program like GetRight etc. for accelerated
download, check in that program also if 'disconnect when done' is
not checked.
Hope this helps
