I am attempting to start a new thread and just get some more ideas and
suggestions. I will understand if I get no responses.
Orig thread is:small test network help 5/30/04 2:11am. I have one client
(HP503N desktop/winXP pro ) that has no problems at all logging on, pinging,
etc to the DC. My laptop(which has the problem and gets the title above
error message. ) is winXP pro also, acount was created on the DC at the same
time as the HP503, just in an ou, and is a domainuser (both)Wouldn't the
problem nbe on the dell laptop since the other client has no problem? The
laptop, has been issued IP by the DC/DHCP/DNS w2Kserver, but yet cannot ping
or logon.? No internet involved, Netgeat 5 port router.
Ok, I am trying so hard to study, but I cannot do most of the things I need
to unless bothclients can log in , ping etc. I cannot believe my newer Dell
Inspiron 8100 is the one I have the trouble with. I have renewed, flushed,
released, etc, etc.
BTW, the laptop has no problems when I switch cables and hook it up to my
cable modem using the 3com nic in the laptop.
whew
Thanks for taking the time to listen,
Frank L
