Sygate WIN98SE problems

I am using Sygate 4.5 on a WIN98SE server PC.
CLients that log on are also running WIN98SE.
I use Sygate to enable internet sharing over a modem (dial up) and
want to be able to connect/disconnect at client-PC´s.

I have two problems:

1. if I set the auto disconnect time longer than 3 minutes, the Sygate
server will never disconnect the modem from the telephoneline, because
every now and then some activity over the modem resets the auto
disconnect timer.
This happens even when no client PC is running at all. At the server
no programs are running that would want to access the modem.

2. When I want to hang-up the modem on a client PC, I always get the
message
"Other network computers are currently accessing the internet. Would
you still like to hang up?".

Can somebody help me out?
Thanks!
