I've been using UkOnline's 8Mb LLU service for around 15 months and its
been fine.

I'm also a Sky satellite subscriber and therefore eligible for Sky's
cheaper BB service which is UkOnline's offering rebadged, (Sky having
bought EasyNet).

I received my code from Sky allowing me to request BB from them but,
ringing them, was told that I have to disconnect from UkOnline before
they can then activate their service. I could be without BB for 7+ days.

Is their a way around this as surely they're going to disconnect the LLU
and then reconnect it for no purpose while inconveniencing me.

No way around this as far as I'm aware.
You could be without BB up to 14 days as there is a backlog of sky BB users
waiting for activation while BT drag their feet.
Go to www.skyuser.co.uk and you will see for yourself.
Good Luck!!
