My Win98 laptop has both a wired NIC and a PCMCIA wireless card that can be
used to connect to the internet. Sometime back I setup the wireless card to
be the active connection. I cannot remember how to switch back to using the
wired NIC. Both interfaces are configured correctly as far as protocol
bindings etc. How do I reactivate the wired NIC?

Not exactly the same thing, but i can switch between connecting
to my cablemodem either through an USB-cable or through a
Wireless PCI Adapter [via a router].

I have to change two things to use the [wired] USB connection.
1) Control Panel : Network applet : Configuration : TCP/IP ->
[Adapter i want to use] : Properties : Advanced : Set this
protocol to be the default protocol.
2) For some reason i also have to; Control Panel : System applet
: Device Manager : Network adapters : [Wireless Adapter]
Properties : General : Disable in this hardware profile

I am having a similar problem in knowing how to go from
the direct connect NIC cable connection to a newly
installed USB wireless device. Everything installs ok and
I can see the signal strength is good, but my outlook and
internet explorer don't use or doesn't access the wireless
connection. Where can I find out how to get my WIN98
laptop configured so that when I take it off of the cable
it uses the wireless card. I couldn't use a wireless
PCMCIA card I installed awhile back for the same reason.
I know there's something simple to do to switch back and
forth but I need the same help... my email address is
(E-Mail Removed).

Thanks
Gino
