Switching ADSL to flatmate

I'm moving out of a shared house. My flatmate wants to take over the
broadband connection. On the whole, he'd prefer not to have a 10 day
delay between cancelling and connecting to a new ISP.

Will I just be able to request a MAC from my ISP, and give it to my
flatmate.

If so, will this automatically cancel my account with my current ISP?
I'd like to be able to keep them as my provider in my new place?

Hi there,

If your flatmate will be keeping the same line, then there should not be
any need for any of that. Merely changing the payment and contact
details, dependant on how you are billed should be perfectly ample, I
would have thought.

One thing to bear in mind though, will be if the name of the bill payer
on the BT bill changes, this may result in cancellation of the ADSL service.

There should be no need for a Migration Authorisation Code to be
requested as this would only apply to moving from one ISP to another.

Which invalidates your first statement.

Pay your bills and move. Let him sort out the rest. You don't want to
pissing around sorting out problems after you've moved.
