I switched to Tiscali today, the £19.99 with line and calls bundle. Hassel
free, no downtime except 5 minutes putting new settings in router.

And received a welcome letter from my old provider (pipex) telling me my
service was live today. I think pipex got a bit confused, I actually had to
double check I was connected with Tiscali LOL.

I might be mistaken but hadn't Pipex been taken over by Tiscali?

Yes. I was with Homecall, now Pipex Homecall, so now P-H-Tiscali I suppose.

I will be very interested to see how you get on - because I am with
Pipex and am tempted by the Tiscali deal you have chosen.
If it works, there doesn't seem to be anything of better value.
Please report back in this thread from time to time.

it has been said before, you do get what you pay for, and theres no such
thing as a free lunch.
i'm happier paying £20/month for a great service, than a couple of quid for
crap (and a long contract to give you plenty of time to reflect...).

times may have changed though, i was with pipex until about 6 months ago

My sister is with tiscali. She doesn't use her bb very much, just some msn,
and a few emails and yet she has been a "throttled customer" for quite a
few months now. It says so in the headers of her emails. That's what they
call her. I don't know what her speeds are like right now of but I
hear that once you're throttled by them you have to complain to get off it.
