Switch Recommendations ?

Need to expand from a 16 port hub to a 24 port switch in the next 30 days.
In the past I have tried a Linksys SD216 switch, which failed after 6 mo,
was replaced with another from Linksys, which failed. I put back our old
reliable EFAH16 (metal casing!) and have been truck'n just fine. Now I need
to increase the number of ports for an expansion. We do not particularly
want to pay "Cisco Prices" if we can, but does anyone have any experience
with any "good" switches that we may consider ?

Thanks in Advance

In news:(E-Mail Removed),
Neteng <(E-Mail Removed)> stated, which I commented on below:

I second that.

You didn't specify speed, so I am going to assume you are staying with
10/100.

The least expensive choice that comes to mind would be Netgear FM526T. The
price is hard to beat and it's quite fine for smaller environments. I have
several that have worked flawlessly for 18 months. You get 24 10/100 ports
and 2 10/100/1000 ports (good for uplink or a server). It is a "smart"
switch -- not SNMP compatible, but there is a utility for initial discovery
and a web browser interface with basic management features. If you have
been getting away with a 16-port hub, that ought to be a nice upgrade.

For something more advanced, consider ProCurve 2626 (HP).
