We are moving our four servers from the switch which runs all the machines
in our company (75 users) to its own dedicated Gigabit switch. The current
switch that the servers shares with the workstations is an Intel 10/100. We
are purchasing the NetGeat 8 port 10/100/1000 to put the servers on.

Question is, do we need a switch with an "uplink" port to chain it off our
current Intel 10/100 in order to talk to the rest of the network? How do I
connect the two switches - just run a normal cable between any ports among
the two switches?

Thank you!

<-- this is the switch.

If neither switch has an uplink port, use a cross-over cable. If one or both
have an uplink port, use a straight through. If they both have an uplink
port, one should be 'on' and the other 'off' (usually a button that is
depressed for on and undepressed for off).
