I've just switched from BT to Tiscali Broadband and BT have told me I
can't keep old email address! Is this correct because this hasn't
happened when I switched from other providers in past. Is this BT's way
of trying to persuade you to stay to save all hastle of switching emails
etc.

You just change to PAYG and use 56k dial up every two months to keep it
alive.

However, you don't have to dial up to receive your e-mails, you can still
use your present e-mail prog, i.e. Outlook, with your present settings
whilst logged on to tiscali. You would just have to alter the outgoing mail
server settings to send from that account. You could get round the, having
to change e-mail addresses scenario, by buying your own domain name. A
..co.uk name costs £9.99 for two years from easily.co.uk. Then you could
change providers to your hearts content and always keep the same address.

Regards

Mike
