hy,
first at all, sorry for the bad englisch it's not my first language;

I try to use my SIS 900 fast ehternet Card to use with 100 Mb/s speed. I
can't find any modul parameter for the modul sis900.o. I have try to
make things work with ethtool and m11-tool bad the card isn't supported.
Do some one know how i can reach my goal ?
I am usinf Fedora Core2C with an custom made Kernel but i have also try
it with the standart kernel

I have my Sis card working fine. I just built the driver into the kernel
(My kernel is monlithic) rather than as a module and it just works when I
bring it up.
What is it connecting to at the other end? Mine has a laptop with a
realtek rtl8139 pcmcia card at the other end which is capable of full
speed no problems.
Check what's at the other end. Maybe you have a router that needs tweeking?

i'am sorry. I don't realy know what i have to use to get full speed with
the chip (sis900). At the other end is a notebook with the same chip
inside. Allso there is an HUP between the two computers.
Do i need a spezial cable for full speed ? no HUP ??
I thank you for intristing in my problem an for reading this englisch :-)

What kind of hub is it? Some hubs only do 10, some even only do half
duplex.

David

PS, if you do not want to use a hub, you need a cross over cable, then
you can connect PC to PC.

Yes. Good idea. That would be the quickest way to see if the hub is
causing the trouble.

Actually, _all_ hubs only support half duplex communications. Otherwise,
it's a switch, not a hub.

Sidenote: There are switching hubs out there, but even these do only
support HD and either 10 or 100 MBit at a time.

I don't think you'll find many hubs that can run full duplex. Full duplex
requires buffering of the entire packet. Hubs don't do that.
