I've been using ktinter as my PPP dialer for several years, most
recently with SuSE 9.2. I had to replace my motherboard at about the
same time that I received my SuSE 10 preorder. When I tried to dial
out with SuSE 10, the ktinter icon flashed briefly and nothing else
happened. There was nothing in the ktinter log.

I ran statserial on /dev/ttyS0 and saw nothing unusual. I used a
terminal simulator (kermit) to send AT commands to the modem,
including ATDT, and got OK responses. I'd appreciate any suggested
diagnostics or fixes.
