My exchange is being enabled in February of next year and after research I
had decided to go with Zen. I am at present with BT Satellite and if I send
BT Support an email request for help it gets replied to, if at all, in 5-6
days. I emailed Zen Support a query about their 1mb ADSL and I got a reply
in about 12 hours. This impressed me! However during further research I came
across something I wanted clarifying from PlusNet. I emailed them and was
replied to in less than 2 hours! Is PlusNet always this good - if it is it
might persuade me to go with them! I also note that PlusNet support team
members post in here from time to time.

For interest the question to Zen Support and PlusNet Support was 'My
exchange is being enabled on 18th February next year, if I preorder now when
will money be taken from my account' The reply from Zen was - now and we
will refund if for any reason you cant get broadband. The reply from PlusNet
was - only when your account is activated.

if your going to base your broadband decision on who replies quickest to an
e-mail I'd advise you take a serious look at your chosen ISP before making a
decision, you could be well disappointed if not.

I'm with Zen and highly recommend them but may not if they do not give their
customers an opt out on the decision to virus scan all mail coming into
their mail core and reject anything (without notice to the EU) that smells
suspiciously like a virus. I can adequately protect my own systems thank
you and don't need some freeware AV scanner called "Clam" to do it for me,
and possibly with false positives as well.

I am a happy Plusnet customer. Generally my experience is they answer their
ticket/email the same day, if not within an hour or two.

I too considered Zen, the differentiators that made me pick plusnet were the
slightly cheaper price (£21.99), 250Mb Webserver space with FP/PHP and Mysql
database and free in-bound fax to email service.

I have friends on Zen who never say anything bad about them though.

Jc.

I've definitely not had a problem with Plusnet so far.

They did once take as long as 12 hours to return a support enquiry, but
normally it's within 5 hours or so.

Pete.

PS, if you go with Plusnet, tell them I recommended you. My username is
lethe.plus.com, and I get a 50p rebate if you tell them I recommended
them.
