Super G and Turbo Mode

Is this going to become an interoperable speed option, or are we looking at
a chipset based proprietary implementation.

I am basing this on Atheros and Intersil making different Super G chipsets.

Are they doing the same thing?

Can they interoperate?

If they are both proprietary, is there a subset of both implementations that
is part of the 802.11g standard?
