Depends on his definition of cheap, I guess. £20pcm is no longer
cheap and brings most decent brands into contention.

Yes, interesting he does not seem to have an ADSL service, yet does
own the equipment. I am assuming it was just forward planning
otherwise migration would certainly be a much cheaper option.

Unless, of course, he is migrating. Metronet was 3 months but I have
a feeling they might have reduced that now.

BT now have a simultaneous provision system (which doesn't work very
well) but which, IIRC, does not require the setup fee to be repaid
because it is essentially a continuation of the service from your
previous property. Details are sketchy on that so I may be wrong.

Which Metronet will enforce but Freedom2Surf currently don't. Metronet
also don't offer payment by DD whereas Freedom2Surf do. I have a
service from both. Both are excellent but Freedom2Surf have more
bells and whistles, whilst Metronet are slightly easier to talk to,
should you require it.

The ultimate in goalpost movers.

Not relevant if the home mover / simultaneous provision option I've
mentioned is correct. But Zen still do have an extremely good
reputation. Would I pay the extra for Zen? No, because F2s and
Metronet have provided a pretty much perfect service in the time I've
been with them. It's been rock solid and full speed ever since I
started so I fail to see how paying any extra would have helped.
