Suggestion for Wireless Networking

I've recently setup a wireless network at home as I've finally gotten
tired of having network cables running along the walls in my hallway.

I went with D-Link as it appeared that their cards supported the Linux
the best while still having a good value and performance.

I ended up going for DI-624 for the router and DWL-G650 for a Windows
2000 Laptop (sadly needed for 'work') and DWL-G520 for the linux box.

The windows box runs like a champ, but I'm wondering what kind of
problems I'm gonna have with getting the card to work under linux.
This machine is used as a PVR and it expects to be able to connect to
a MySQL database on the network at all time, as well as other shared
directories on the network for other media. So, network reliability is
most important, and there will be some decent bandwidth needed as well
for shooting video streams over the network.

I'm posting to see if its worth it to keep this card and struggle with
getting it working and deal with the unreliability of the madwifi
drivers with the new 'g' modes. The alternative is to return this card
to CompUSA, get my $50 back and then spend $100 for a DWL-G810
(802.11g wireless bridge), and just leave the networking as is on the
linux box and use the bridge to get it on the network.

If CompUSA wasn't so draconian about their 15% restocking fee, I'd
dive in and see what I can do in the 14 day return period and return
it if it didn't look pretty.

Anyway, any input is appreciated!
