As I have understood it wireless adapters are not the easiest to get to work
under Linux. Being a newbie to Linux i would like to make this as easy as
possible when installing my new machine on my wireless network.

Any suggestion or recommendationa are appriciated. I am using Red Hat 9 on
the machine and the wireless network is 802.11b.

TIA

3Com 3CRDW696 (PCI) has worked for me, both with linux-wlan driver and
kernel's driver.

Sony PCWA-C150S. It's an Orinoco chipset, which is pretty much the
best supported wireless chipset under Linux. The cool thing about it
is the antenna, which is neatly tucked up against the side of the
laptop, instead of hanging out and getting in the way. The bad thing
about it (I'll bet these two features are related!) is that you don't
get the range you can with some other cards. And of course it's
priced like a Sony...
