Suggest an assignment using iptables and SNAT/DNAT

I am learning iptables and SNAT/DNAT .Please suggest a small
programming assignment or utility that can be completed in a week or so
using iptables and nat .I know that firewalls can be written using
iptables but I want to try something new and useful.Please pour in your
ideas !
All pointers given by you all will be valuable .
