Stress/Load Testing PPPoE Server for Linux.

Hi!


I want to stress test the linux pppoe-server for number of users
online supported and amount of total bandwidth that can be handled
across a single server.


Any ideas how can i generate those many pppoe client sessions?

You need test equipment or software that does that. Googling for "ppp
test suite" turns up a number of vendors.

FWIW, in case it's what you're testing, most of the free ppp
implementations for Linux are not very scalable. One can support many
thousands of sessions on a modern PC, but I'd be surprised if Linux
didn't melt way before then.
